Chris Pruvey - Musculoskeletal Specialist Physiotherapist & Sonographer
Chris is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Musculoskeletal Specialist who brings over 20 years of clinical expertise to The Moving Body. With advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and ultrasound-guided injection therapy, Chris offers a unique skill set that complements our holistic approach to treating pain and restoring movement.
Chris will be joining us every Thursday, offering his specialist injection therapy services to our patients. His arrival represents an exciting development for The Moving Body, allowing us to provide an even more comprehensive range of treatments under one roof. Whether you've been working with Barry and need additional diagnostic imaging or injection therapy, or you're seeking Chris's expertise directly, we're delighted to welcome him to our team.
Background
Chris qualified as a physiotherapist in 2003 from the University of the West of England, Bristol, before gaining extensive experience across NHS musculoskeletal, pain management, rheumatology and orthopaedic departments. His passion for advancing his clinical knowledge led him to complete a Master's degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London in 2009. Since then, he has focused exclusively on advanced musculoskeletal assessment, diagnostic imaging and therapeutic injections.
His specialist qualifications include certification as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber, advanced training in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound, and expertise in ultrasound-guided injection techniques.
Approach to Treatment
Chris takes pride in offering what he calls a "one-stop" musculoskeletal service. By combining thorough physical examination, real-time diagnostic ultrasound scanning, and where appropriate, precisely targeted injections, he can provide both diagnosis and injection treatment in a single appointment. This integrated approach means patients receive clear answers and effective interventions without unnecessary delays.
Currently working within both NHS primary care and private practice, Chris has developed particular expertise in rapid musculoskeletal triage, helping patients navigate the most appropriate pathway to recovery—whether that's rehabilitation, further imaging, injection therapy, or onward referral.
